Dean Pappas

First elected to City Council in 2006, Dean is also a local businessman and community volunteer.

About Dean

As well as being a City Councillor, Dean is a local business owner and community leader. Dean is married (23 yrs) to Anita, they have two children, Basil 22, and Toula 16. He was born and raised in Peterborough, where his mother, Toula, and mother-in-law, Gisela still live. (Dean’s dad Bill passed away in 2019). He is the owner, and along with his family, operator of Pappas Billiards (a family business founded in 1905). Dean is outgoing with a strong sense of civic duty. His passion for the city has provided him with an ongoing avenue to explore and develop his interest in the arts, the environment, assisting those in need, and the economy.

Dean is also a sports enthusiast. He is a 4th-degree Black Belt in the Korean Martial Art of Hap Ki Do, an accomplished rock climber, and is involved with volleyball, baseball, and coaches at Trent University. He continues to support the arts, as a social, cultural, and economic driver in the City of Peterborough. Dean attended Queen Mary, PCVS, and is a Trent Grad. Dean has always supported diversity and the LGBTQ+ community.
